What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the modern way to restore a beautiful, healthy smile after suffering from missing, failing, or decayed teeth. Needing three pieces to restore your smile – a post, an abutment, and a restoration – full mouth dental implants are made to look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. Because they are surgically placed into your jawbone, they are extremely versatile, can replace any number of missing teeth, and limit recession in the jawbone. This permanent solution allows your new set of teeth to perform daily functions with ease such as chewing, talking, and smiling without worry. Dr. Gamburg uses advanced surgical technology to optimize your outcome and increase your lasting chance of success.

Benefits of Our Full Mouth Dental Implants

Tailor Your Treatment Plan With Personalized Options

Designing smiles that restore more than just your smile aesthetics is what we do best here at Brielle Dentistry Co. Since our affordable dental implants are such a personalized treatment, we want to ensure it’s treated as such. We will begin your smile journey with a full consultation with Dr. Gamburg where we will discuss your dental concerns, smile goals, medical history, and what to expect with treatment. We will also complete digital x-rays to determine your candidacy for dental implants. With this information, we will then create your personalized treatment plan that takes your face shape, tooth shape and size and natural tooth color into consideration to craft a smile that’s truly unique to you. Once completed, you will undergo surgery where your dental implants will be placed into your jawbone at a 45-degree angle to limit bone recession with our all-on-4 to 6 protocol. We’ll perform bone grafts and extract remaining teeth if needed and then attach a temporary restoration so you can enjoy the benefits of a full smile immediately. Upon completion of surgery, your mouth will heal over the next several months through the process of Osseointegration. Once your dental implants have healed, your final appointment to place your permanent restoration will be scheduled. With dental implants, you can enjoy a complete, healthy, and beautiful new smile!

Dr. Gamburg Talks About Common Myths About Dental Implants

Getting Started With Our Implant Process

Dental implants are typically suitable for most adults who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, decay, or gum disease. We recommend our dental implant patients to have healthy gums and sufficient bone density in their jaw to support the implant. Additionally, they must be in good overall health with no uncontrolled medical conditions such as diabetes or autoimmune diseases that could affect the healing process.

Dental implant procedures are comfortable, relaxing and virtually painless as you are relaxing in a sedated state. Upon completing your surgery, you may experience some pain and swelling immediately after. Once your dental implants have healed over the next several months, you will be able to enjoy them the way you would natural teeth.

Even with our advanced dental technology and customized treatment plans, our dental implant surgeries last about 2.5 hours per arch. If you’re receiving a single dental implant, the procedure may last one to two hours.

Showing off those new pearly whites is going to be your new favorite pastime, but keep in mind that recovering from the initial implant surgery can take about three months. Once swelling has subsided, we can create your final dental restoration that will sit permanently on your implant for you to enjoy for decades to come.
